A lesson, boarding, and training horse farm in Central Connecticut. We focus on making riding a fun, family-friendly, and affordable activity. With many years in the industry, we provide the professionalism and experience to make horsemanship enjoyable for all.
Amy Sauyet has been riding horses since 1976 and teaching riding since 1980. (Yes, she was just a child!) She has a bachelor's degree in Horsemanship and Education. She has worked as a veterinary technician. She teaches all levels of riders, and ages from 4 years old and up. Amy is a kind and patient instructor, and she runs a welcoming, friendly barn. She is assisted by Kayleigh Sauyet, whose competence and compassion demonstrate her twenty years of experience in the horse world.
Four Winds Farm strives to be a happy, friendly place. We don't tolerate cliques or mean-spiritedness.
Four Winds Farm is a full-service boarding facility, with daily turnouts (weather permitting), clean, comfortable stalls, large paddocks, quality hay and grain, continual access to fresh, clean water, and a staff with substantial veterinary and first-aid experience. More than that, it's a caring place. We're here because we all love the horses, and it shows.
It takes a special blend of skills to train all of our equine friends, the young and frisky, the old and recalcitrant, the mistreated and distrustful, the energetic and the lazy, the brilliant and the challenged. But mostly what it takes is love for these creatures. With years of professional experience and the education to back it up, Amy and Kayleigh can help with most all of your horse's bad habits.
